I had the pleasure of creating the custom logo identity for Eerie Current Inc. a London-based boutique video production and digital imaging technician (DIT) service founded by freelance DIT and colourist Elliott Chyi. The studio specialises in high-end commercial, fashion, beauty, and independent film projects across the UK and Europe.
For this project, we embraced a highly experimental visual direction, exploring chrome textures, distorted forms, and futuristic typography to create an identity that felt cinematic, unsettling, and immersive. The inspiration stemmed directly from the name Eerie Current, leading us towards a visual language that felt mysterious, technological, and slightly alien, something that could exist between the organic and the synthetic.
The logo symbol itself was heavily inspired by insect anatomy, microscopic patterns, and geometric structures found within nature. I wanted the form to feel almost biological while still appearing mechanical and toxic, as though it were an unidentified organism or futuristic emblem. Sharp edges, reflective surfaces, and fluid metallic treatments were used to reinforce this atmosphere, creating a symbol that feels both aggressive and hypnotic.
Alongside the symbol development, the typography was pushed into a more experimental direction through sharp forms, chrome effects, and unconventional spacing, referencing early digital aesthetics, cyber-inspired graphics, and underground experimental design.
